Christmas

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day, I know I did, even took my dog Emily and she was a perfect little lady. All the worry about what presents to get and stress of shopping, and  the waiting in long lines is worth it when I see my grandkids faces, so excited opening their pressies and running around with all the other kids in my large family.
I'll be back sewing in the New Year unless I get bored having nothing to do. I have so many ideas running around in my head and may just have to start a bit earlier.

Christmas is almost here!

Hope you have finished your Christmas shopping as Christmas is just around the corner!! I just have a layby to pick up then all the wrapping. I can't believe how fast it has come around this year, maybe because I have been busier this year than other years.
Im taking a break from sewing  for Christmas and will start back again in the New Year. I'll still be blogging on here so check back often. In case you don't I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year!!!

Back again

Sorry I have been absent for so long, I had been getting all my stock ready for the City Kids Market on 11 Dec. Well the Market is over and things didn't turn out well. I think there may have only been about 50 people through the market ALL day. It was very disappointing to say the least. I dont know if its because it was a Saturday market or because the weather was not good. Now I dont know wether to attend other markets or just stick to facebook and my blog to sell my items. I may try a Mums and Bubs Market but they sell secondhand clothing etc there too and I dont know how sales will go for new handmade items. What to do? I just feel that I need to do some markets to get my name out there and people can see my items for themselves to check out the quality fabrics and sewing. And once they know my name they  will know they can trust the items to be well made.  People commented positively to my Little Dresses and Skirts, and loved the fabric I had used. Well to market or not to market that is the question.

OOoops! Forgot to tell you I will be posting pictures of my stall here tomorrow night and a few items on my facebook page. So come and see what you think! Could you comment honestly on my posted items I would like some feedback to see if I'm on the right track.  Thank you

Catch Up

Hi All sorry I've been missing for a while Ive been busy Sewing, Christmas shopping, Living! Ive also had a couple of  health problems lately and had to do a sleep apnea test at home! Has anyone else had one of these? OMG it took me 1/2 and hour just to put it all on. My doctor suggested I run this test as I have been feeling run down lately, im a bit of an insomniac, as I said to the doctor "I just feel glaaaah". He decided I'm not getting enough sleep and since this problem (apnea) is in the family thought it a good idea to check it out. I had 3 electrodes on my face, one behind my ear and 2 on my chest and that was just the start of it. The gadget was strapped just above my waist, and I had 2 straps, one on my chest the other on my waist. All these where connected to wires of course. To top it off I had a breathing tube hooked over my ears and in my nose and a thing taped to my finger. Well I should have taken a photo, can you just picture it, now think really funny! My BF couldn't stop laughing at me. Now this was all for lack of sleep, now imagine sleeping with it on!! I was scared I'd strangle myself!!! and the nose thing tickled.
Fortunately I did wake up, after only about 3 1/2 hours sleep! You have to be asleep for at least 4-6 hours for it to work!!! LOL

One Little Pearl on Facebook

Drop on by and check out my One Little Pearl facebook page, the link is in My Favourites under the slide show near the bottom of this page. I would love for you to `like' my page and maybe leave a comment. I am trying to break into a very competitive market in baby/childrens clothing and am trying to get my name out there.
I will be using this blog for some personal stuff as well and mainly business on facebook. Any items you may be interested in on either page can be enquired  about on both. I will be running a competition over there once I get more understanding of how that page works.
Any ideas on items you would like made that you have not seen around would be handy to know.
Thank you

Tanya

New Dress

Iv'e been working on my patterns and sizing. I tried one of  the dresses I made on my grandchild only to find it was too wide so I've had to alter the pattern taking out some of the fullness. I've added a loose coordinating sash to the original so it can be used at the waist, under bust or even down on the hips. I still love the dress and will try it on my little model again to check the results. Ill try to get photos for you of the before and after to see what you think.

Photos Finally!

If you love Raggedy Anne here is one with a difference. Made using a pattern by Bowls-n-Annies she has pink wool hair, painted legs, coffee dyed body, hand sewn features and button eyes. She wears a bright dress of birthday party fabric and knickers.

My first attempt at distressing a bear. Didn't turn out too bad. This little fellow is SOLD sorry

This is my Olde Generation bear. He's also an Eco Bear being made from, would you believe it, a recycled woolen skirt, I kid you not. I saw this fabric and it just screamed old fashioned bear!
Of course all fabrics were thoroughly washed before being used and he has plastic pellets to weigh him down and clean filling.

If you like different teddies this is the one for you. Shes also an Eco Bear made from a recycled little girls top and lined in blue sheeting. She has pink floral paw and foot pads.

I finally worked out how to upload some photos. I also make bears and dolls, If you are interested just click on the email button to contact me. This one is one of my own patterns, I just adore him! Just look at that face! He's not quite finished yet, just needs his ears sewn on and nose top sewn. He has a weighted bottom.

Another Twirl Skirt

A bright, colourful extra twirly, twirl skirt in florals and spots. Size 5-6. Just click on my Email button to contact me with any questions.

First Photo!!

I love this one. Made of poly/cotton this beautiful twirl skirt has a black and slightly off white spot top section and white and black `peace' theme gathered lower section. It has elastic in the waist. Size 4-5.

Question?

Would you like to drop me a line and let me know what sort of clothing you would like to see me make for your children or babies? Im going to be making frilly bot nappy covers for one, I just love them, but any other ideas? Cant wait for your suggestions!

Tag trouble

Having trouble getting my clothing tags made up in time, and trying to sort out how to pay for business cards etc when I don't have a credit card! I haven't had a good day LOL I also tried putting on some photos and so far no luck.

Its finally happening

Finally I've started out on my new adventure into childrens clothing and decided I have got to devote more time to this blog seeing as how I have not been posting at all!!! LOL
I hope to start putting up pictures of the clothing I have been making and to try and get to this blog at least a few times a week. I just get side tracked once I check this and that and before I know it hours have gone by.
I am attending my first childrens market in a few weeks so need to get stuck into sewing. Im madly trying to sort out a new logo, business cards, hang tags, clothing labels etc too so much to do. I am not a business, but I want to look professional anyway.
As you can see I finally worked out how to add a background to my blog and I must say I love it. It took forever to find one I loved, thanks so much to Itkupilli at Cute and Cool Blog Stuff just click on her button to visit her site a very talented artist and wonderful free blog stuff. I also have blog buttons from Cathe Holden another terrific blog to loose yourself in. Cathes button is also in my side bar.
